Mooooooooooohawked!

December 5th, 2009

Quick one this. The ‘Nightelf Mohawk Grenade’, chuck it into the crowed and watch as all of em emerge from the smoke with Mohalk hair do’s.

If you need a Mohawk, and no one else can help, then travel from the Valley of Trials down to the troll village and you will find a Nightelf Mohawk on the right of the path. Ask him for a box of shiny grenades :)

3 teir healing for 10man raids

December 5th, 2009

This is a suggested organisation for healing 10man raids. The diagram below is for a 10 man raid with 2 tanks, 3 healers and 5 dps.

Hr = raid healer         Hh = healer’s healer        Ht = tank healer

R = raid                         T = tanks                               Boss

3_tiar_healingThe colored arrows show the healers target and their priority.

Red = primary target, if your alive so should this target be.

Blue = secondry target, healed when primary is at full health.

Green = tertiary target, healed when secondry is at full health.

If all of your targets are at adequate health levels then help out in any other area.

An example

A 10 man raid, 2 tanks, 3 melee dps, 2 range dps, 1 paladin healer, 1 druid healer, 1 priest healer.

The priest (raid healer) will be focused on healing the druid (healer’s healer), if the druid is at full health then the priest will then heal the melee dps and the range dps. if all of these targets are in good health the priest can heal the tanks and the paladin (tank healer).

The druid will be focused on the paladin (tank healer), if the paladin is at full health then the druid will heal the priest. if both of these targets are in good health then the druid can heal the tanks or the raid.

The paladin (tank healer) will be focused on the two tanks.

Beacon of Light will be placed on tank 1 and healing will be directed at tank 2 (any heal on tank 2 will be applied to tank one as well). At the end of 1 minute Beacon of light will be applied to tank 2, judgement of wisdom will be cast and the healing will be re-directed to tank 1. At this changeover (every 1 minute) healing on the tanks will drop for 3 seconds. the druid will need to watch for this and take action if needed.

If both of the tanks are in good health then the paladin can add to the raid healing.

holy pally healing

November 4th, 2009

so i wanted to post up a bit of info on my current healing buttons and how to make some of them. the numbers here will be diffrent on your char because you will have diffrent haste, sp etc but it will give you a rough idea.

current buttons:

Holy Shock – instant cast – 3.5k heal – 5sec cooldown – non crit

Flash of Light – 1sec cast – 3k heal – 1sec cooldown – non crit

Holy Light – 2sec cast – 7k heal – 1sec cooldown – non crit

InstaHeal – instant cast – 7k heal – 2min cooldown

FatHeal – 2sec cast – 13k heal – 2min cooldown

Lay on Hands – instant cast – 30k heal – 15min cooldown

ok so your thinking ‘InstaHeal’, ‘FatHeal’? where did they come from?

both of these are macro’d buttons that you can create for yourself.

InstaHeal:

/cast Divine Favor

/cast Holy Shock(Rank 7)

FatHeal:

/cast Divine Favor

/cast Holy Light(Rank 11)

Divine Favor of course is an ability from the holy tree that causes your next FoL, HL or HS spell to be a critical hit, but has a 2min cooldown. For me this creates the numbers showen above. Its only the Divine Favor that has the cool down, it wont lock up your normal Fol, HL or HS, these can be used as normal while DF is cooling.

just open the macro pannel and drop in the /cast code above, name the button and give it a picture.

Naxx raiding

November 4th, 2009

netcyberelf (my main) has joined the 10man raiding team of the pulp faction guild.

so of course we headed straight for naxxramas!

this first run has gone rather well, clearing right up to the final boss kel’thuzard. unfortuneatly we just couldnt get this final boss down on this run. the main problem came from the iceblock spell, that he casts, killing off the healers. the good news is that with a little more co-ordenation this can be easly over come and we’ll get him!

as for my healing i am very pleased with the holy tree and have respeced to take advantage of more of its tallents. at the current time i feel very confident to be able to provide healing for the MT and OT during all of the encounters.

pally healers are perfect for this role as they have big fast heals. where they are lacking is in multi healing. unlike the shammys or preists who have abilitys that will heal multipul charicters, such as chain heal, pallys are more about single focus healing.

apart from the final boss, heigan the unclean and instructor razuvious were the biggest pains in the ass as neither are a straight fight.

anyway, so far its going well :)

A Holy diffrent kind of Whackin

October 3rd, 2009

Well with my lvl 70 frost/blood death knight soon to be out dps’ing my lvl 80 paladin i have decided to give my paladin to the power of the light. that’s right folks, he’s gone fully holy.

i’ve always been reluctant to go holy before now as in a fight i like to knock my oponent down as quick as i can, i cant be bothered with prolonged fights. those of you that know the holy spec will know apart from holy shock there are no offensive weapons in the tree (as opposed to the ret spec which gives crusader strike and the devine storm)

fortunately, i’m often the healer in groups so going holy has really boosted my role here. the holy tree offers lots of extra buffs and bonus’s to healing and mana conservation.

as for offence and soloing the holy tree does look quite usfull, with a few points in ret i’m looking at a bonus crit of around 22% on top of what i have. so 50% of the time my holy spells should be getting a crit strike and with holy shock giving 1300 base damage thats quite a hit. on top of this my judgements get a 40% damage buff so its not looking so bad.

this also works well in groups as a healer, as both are range spells, you can stay out of the way at the back healing and in the quiet moments throw in a quick exorcise/holyshock or judgement for a bit of helpful damage.

we’ll see how it goes.

Its new and its blue, ohhhhhh

August 31st, 2009

Well as my paladin is now reatching towards the ever elusive “end game” in wow, i have turned myself over to raising up my death knight. As you can guess, riding around on the ground its just a little too painfull after flying everywhere so, i spent the night rep’ing up with thrallmar and generating pleanty of cash. the result is a nice shiny blue windrider for my death knight :)

blue_windrider

Lovin the frost spec, but i do miss ‘corpes explosion’ from the unholy tree, perhaps more for the comady value than actual dps.

Cenarion War Hippogryph

August 30th, 2009

Yet another mount added to the collection.

hippogryphIn order to get your hands on one of theses bad boys, you will need to gain exalted rep with the cenarion expedition and have a spare 1600 gold in your pocket.

If your going to go for one i would suggest doing all of the cenarion quests accross outlands and the follow up in borian tundra, the d.e.h.t.a camp and the winterfin retreat Q’s, then its just a case of running the steam vaults untill you have gained the rep required. If your having trouble in the steam vault then dont take on the bog lords, while they may give 24 rep, its more worth while to grind the naga’s and get the ‘coilfang armaments’ 75 rep each on hand in.

it may seam a lot of work, but the results speak for themselves, EPIC mount! :)

Venomhide Ravasaur

August 26th, 2009

Venomhide Ravasaur epic mount

Well its taken me 20 days, 20 rugged leather, 20 runecloth and cost me 80 gold. But i am now the prowd owner of a venomhide ravasaur.

To get one of these lil beasties you have to pick up the Q chain in un’goro crater. When entering on foot from tanris follow the right hand edge of un’goro for a short distance and you will find the Q giver mount on a ravasaur.

Following a bit of killing and collecting you will then spend the next 20 days compleating short Q’s in tanris and un’goro. Each Q you compleate will give you a baby tooth, when you have 20 and the runecloth and rugged leather you will go back to the Q giver and be awarded your new mount.

Below are some inages of the ravasaur’s development.

awwwwwW, they grow up so fast.
